The cabin is in the Granite Falls area (10 minutes out of town) at about 1400 feet elevation. It is right on Canyon Creek, which has enough water volume to qualify as a river, but is too short. The creek feeds the a fork of the Stillaguamish River not far from here.

The property is large, with a carport, a huge lawn and deciduous forest at the edges. There are a number of places to sit and enjoy the creek.

We have gotten used to seeing trees growing on just about any surface they can find with the roots going to dramatic lengths to find the soil to feet it.

Over the last few weeks, we have had an amazing blooming of tulips.

In springtime, the creek always gets quite high. Apparently, this year, it didn't get as high as usual because the heat and rains came at different times. We have rocks outside the porch which we could use to judge and this day was the highest that we had seen.

One of the more exciting wild creatures that we have seen is a few bald eagles that were around at the end of May.
